About Serene India

We are a small, intentionally paced meditation studio founded in Bengaluru to bring simple, evidence-informed mindfulness practices to people across India. Our work began with a few guided sessions in neighbourhood halls and park terraces. Over time, we shaped those practices into concise guided lessons that fit busy days. Our aim is not to overwhelm with tradition or jargon, but to present steady, accessible methods that help people sleep better, manage stress, and reconnect with present-moment ease. We collaborate with certified teachers, counsellors, and community volunteers to ensure sessions are safe, inclusive, and culturally aware. Many of our practices are inspired by breath-focused approaches, gentle body awareness, and short reflective prompts that can be used anywhere.

Our approach

Serene India emphasises small, steady steps that fit modern routines. We design sessions with clear beginnings and endings, practical anchors such as breath or body sensation, and gentle prompts to bring awareness back when the mind wanders. This approach supports people who are new to meditation by focusing on consistency rather than duration or technique mastery. In workplaces, we recommend micro-practices that fit into brief pauses between tasks. For evenings, we focus on quieting rituals that invite the nervous system to downshift. Our teachers integrate contemporary psychology and classical mindfulness principles where appropriate, creating approachable guidance that is inclusive of India’s cultural diversity. Safety and consent are central: teachers offer options, invite people to rest or open their eyes at any moment, and avoid practices that may be destabilising without individual support. Over time, our simple practices build habit, resilience, and a clearer relationship with attention and emotion.

Teachers and community

Our teachers are certified mindfulness instructors and therapists who practise with humility and care. They come from varied backgrounds - psychology, yoga, counselling, and contemplative studies - and share a commitment to clarity, consent, and accessibility. Regular community circles allow participants to share practical experiences, ask questions, and learn how to integrate small practices into family life and work. We host monthly online talks on topics such as mindful parenting, sleep hygiene, and stress management, and maintain small cohorts for guided 4-week programs so participants can learn gently alongside others. Community volunteers support localized meetups in Bengaluru neighbourhoods and remote study groups. We emphasise safety: no participant is asked to disclose more than they are comfortable with, and teachers provide alternatives to practices that may feel intense. For organizations, we tailor short workshops that teach simple, practical techniques workers can use immediately to ease tension and improve focus.
